Surveys and collecting data is a concept that can be used within education in many ways. As an elementary school teacher, one way I would be able to utilize surveys within my classroom would be by creating surveys to help teach entry-level statistics to my students. For example, I could create a class assignment in which I have my students fill out the survey. From there, I could conduct an assignment in which the students take the collected data and create their charts that best display the given information.              Throughout this semester, I have read many of my peers' blogs and there were a lot of things that stood out to me. One topic that was discussed that I found interesting was how my classmates planned on using education within their future careers. It was really interesting to see how many ways an education degree could be utilized in the real world. Some future careers I came across include a college academic advisor, an elementary school teacher, an art teach

Distance learning this semester has been a different experience for me this this semester. I say this because it is different from the last two years because I have in person classes as well as fully online classes this semester, so I have a mixed experience. I like that my online class allows for me to make my own schedule. For example, if I am overwhelmed in one course, since my online class has more freedom around scheduling, I can take a break if needed and reevaluate my schedule to prioritize my metal health. One thing as a future teacher I can do to help distance learners within my classroom is really prioitze their mental health. Distance learning can be tough for a lot of people, so I feel as though mental health of students needs to be a priority in order for the school year to go as smooth as possible. Ways in which I could help students maintain good mental health is by conducting weekly check-ins, allowing for a felixible schedule, as well as being as open-minded as p

Creating a website is something that I have never done before, so the web design project was very exciting for me. Some of the new things I have learned while completing this project include how to embed a google calendar on a website, as well as how to design overall. The design of a website is important because a teacher's website should be easily accessible for students and parents. I really enjoyed this assignment because I love the creative freedom it provided. I can take what I learned from this assignment and apply it in the future by using my new skills when I design the website for my future classroom.                                      website link:  https://mblakelyclassroom.weebly.com/     When using Diigo I have learned that not only am I able to organize and collect sources and articles but am also able to share sources that can be useful to my peers. Diigo is could be useful in many different situations in the future. For example, I would be able to use Diigo in

Mrs. B rinkman  from Leon High School is a Marine Science and Honors Biology teacher. At first glance, Mrs. Brinkman's classroom page is very well put together and organized in a way in which her students would be able to access any needed information easily. On the homepage, she displays the work that is needed to be done by her students depending on what class they are in. On the left, there's a sidebar that shows options to "meet the teacher", "important documents", as well as the class calendar. At the bottom of the page, she puts her email and class phone number if students or teachers need to contact her. https://www.leonschools.net/Page/41217     Technology is a very prominent resource within education and can be used in many ways to ease the responsibilities of teaching. When it comes to different productivity tools within teaching a few I would like to incorporate in the future would be Google Drive, Remind, as well as Kahoot. With Google Driv

When first joining Diigo, I was initially very confused about how the website works. Once I browsed around for a bit, I started to get a better understanding of how it works as well as how our class group page works. I really like how Diigo allows us to all share resources easily and allows comments and feedback for each post. One thing I did not like so much about Diigo is the actual presence of the website. In ways, it is a little confusing and looks out of date.     With this being my first blog, I would say that I really enjoy it. I like that at the end of the week I can talk about my experiences with the material for the week. I also find joy in applying the material to real-life situations that I hope to see in the future. During this blogging process, I have personally learned that it is important to reflect on the material to show that you are understanding as well as know how to apply the information to real life.     One interesting Web 2.0 tool that I could see myself

When it comes to the social media app Twitter, I would say I am fairly new to the app because I have only just started using it for personal use over the summer. When I use Twitter in my free time, it is mainly for entertainment purposes such as memes or following up on my favorite celebrities. I also use Twitter as one of my main sources of access to important news topics such as BLM or politics within our government. I would say that Twitter has benefited me by keeping me up to date with important news topics in which I can be informed on what the issue is while also having access to read how it is affecting others and their personal opinions on these said topics. With having a Twitter account for this class I can be connected to many different educational sources and tips that I will be able to apply within my own personal classroom.     The digital divide has a very big effect on students and education on a day-to-day basis. A digital divide within a classroom could be caused

ELA Standards are something that is talked about a lot amongst educators, but what exactly is it? The Standards for English Language Arts & Literacy in History/Social Studies, Science, and Technical Subjects or ELA Technology Standards are a set of standards set up to prepare children how to use technology in their everyday lives inside and outside of the classroom. For example, the standards for second-grade students show that students should be learning how to "use glossaries and beginning dictionaries, both print and digital, to determine or clarify the meaning of words and phrases". Based on my skill set as of now, I feel as though I would be able to implement this standard because I feel as though I have a really good understanding of how to use both digital and printed glossaries and dictionaries and could explain how to use them, in an informational yet beneficial way for second-grade students to understand.     Since dance has always been an important p
